Shape & Aesthetic
This jacket provides a silhouette with a structured shape that does not lose its shape when it is not zipped. The signature hood is reinforced with stitching so that the shark pictures would be straight and upright. The strip cuffs and waistband ensures high stretch-recovery whereby the garment stays in place around the wrists and hips without sagging with wear.
Care & Authenticity
Wash hands in cold water only to keep the felt sharks appliqued and colorful camo dyes. Previously to cleaning, turn the garment inside out so as to preserve the screen-printed details. The original jackets have a unique gorilla head tag in the back of the size tag and a branded “BAPE” sleeve tag on the left cuff.
The hood features a spacious, deep-cut design that accommodates various head sizes comfortably. Since the zipper extends to the top of the hood, users with larger proportions should ensure the jacket size is adequate in the chest to prevent tension when fully zipped.
This garment does not feature a traditional hat brim. The hood maintains its shape through a high-density cotton weave. While it does not have a metal wire, the double-layered fabric allows the "shark face" to sit firmly without collapsing over the eyes.
The heavyweight cotton fleece minimizes stretching and warping. To maintain the original structure, avoid machine drying. Laying the jacket flat during the drying process ensures the heavy hood does not pull on the shoulder seams or neck area.
